Songs from the Bitter Mountains. The Sleeping Sword tells the first part of a story influenced by role-playing fantasy culture, table-top gaming and medieval ambient music.

As one follows the 'choose your own adventure' narrative illustrated by hand-drawn maps (later expanded on with bonus text by Jordan of AMR), parts of the album will place the listener directly into the action as foley & sound effects are combined with synthesizer music for a totally immersive experience. The weary adventurer will stride through taverns, wooden churches and fishing towns as the story unfolds.

Runecaster "craftily mixes sounds from the era of classic video game titles like Chrono Trigger and early Dragon Quest, with the broody undertone of early Dungeon Synth." **

Tolkien argues that suspension of disbelief is only necessary when the work has failed to create secondary belief, so perhaps one can escape here into an alternative world of clattering armour, swords & sorcery and old magic from the Sword Shores.
